Center Point and Randolph Crushed

The home court advantage was sweet to the varsity team as they swept the Center Point Pirates 3-0 on August 23 and the Randolph Ro-Hawks 3-0 on August 26. The Panthers outpaced the Pirates with scores of 25-16, 25-22, and 25-9. They then rocked Randolph with game scores of 25-23, 25-21, and 25-17.

Against the Pirates, Abbey Weaver slammed ten kills and two blocks, and Lindsey Jenkins set 25 assists. Alex Gustafson made 29 digs and Reagan Rogers served seven aces. Facing the Ro-Hawks, Reagan hammered 16 kills and six aces, while Lindsey hit 31 assists. Alex hit 32 digs, with Kayla Martinez making three blocks.

The Panther freshmen squad played the Center Point JV and secured another win, 2-0, with game scores of 25-15 and 26-24. Against Randolph the freshmen squad was overwhelming, allowing only 14 points by the Ro-Hawks. Final game scores were 25-4 and 25-10.

The JV won their match in two games with scores of 25-10 and 25-22.

The varsity team will travel to the St. Stephen’s Tournament in Austin on September 2 and 3. Then, on September 6, the freshmen, JV, and varsity play at St. Mary’s Hall in San Antonio. The freshmen and JV will also play in the Comfort Tournament on September 10. All teams will then return home to face Johnson City on Tuesday, September 13.
