Alene Virginia Kneupper Schertz, age 87, of Kendalia, Texas, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2011.

Alene was born March 8, 1924 in Kendalia, Texas to Minnie Katherine Gourley and Oscar Otto Kneupper. She was married to Ottomar Arthur Schertz of Schertz, Texas, who preceded her in death. Alene and Ottomar made their home in Harper, Texas. She is survived by one brother, OJ Kneupper of Point Comfort, Texas. One living son, Marvin William Dammann of San Marcos, Texas and Russell Craig Dammann of Schluenburg, Texas, who preceded her in death. One granddaughter, Mariah Lyrae Dammann of New Braunfels, Texas. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are 5 sisters, Frances Walker, Agnes Neill, Isabelle Mattfeld, Dolly Rose, Elvera Kneupper and 1 brother Carroll Kneupper.

The funeral arrangements are being made by Crofts Funeral Home, Blanco, Texas. A graveside service will be held Monday, September 5, 2011 at 11 am at the Kneupper Family Cemetery, Kendalia, Texas. Pall Bearers will be Joe Coryell, Dale Coryell, Jim Rose, Donald Durden, John Kneupper and Cary Kneupper.
