Blanco Book Bunch Sponsors Authors’ Day
Wednesday, September 14, 2011 • Posted September 15, 2011

Mark October 8 on your calendars for this year’s Authors’ Day celebration at the Blanco Library. Members of the library-sponsored Blanco Book Bunch reading group have invited three authors to discuss their books and sign them for purchasers. Mystery-writer Taffy Cannon will discuss Blood Matters beginning at 10 a.m. At 11 a.m. Texas naturalists Brian and Shirley Loflin will discuss their invaluable field guide books, Grasses of Texas and Texas Cacti. Both volumes contain beautiful photographs for ease of identifying native plants.

Bring a brown-bag lunch to eat at noon. Drinks and dessert will be provided. At 1 p.m. Austin writer Karen Valby will discuss her critically-acclaimed documentary of a small Texas town, Welcome to Utopia: Notes from a Small Town. All three books will be available for purchase, and the three authors will be available to sign them and chat beginning at 2 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
