Wednesday, September 7, 2011 • Posted September 16, 2011

With several injured Blanco JV starters prowling the sidelines, one might be concerned about the outcome of the clash with the Johnson City Eagles, on Thursday, September 1. There would be no need to worry as the team demonstrated their depth at key positions.

In the first quarter, Quarter back McKay Adamson scored on a bootleg into the end zone. Adamson then found Chris Castillo for the 2-point conversion pass. Blanco took the lead, 8-0.

With 39 seconds remaining in the first half, Cove Chick punched the ball in from inside the 2-yard line for the second Blanco touchdown. The 2-point conversion pass failed. Blanco went to the half time break up 14-0.

In the third quarter, Cove Chick broke away for a 55 yard touchdown run. Alex Juarez churned his way into the end zone for the 2-point conversion bringing the score to 22-0.

Late in the game Kyle Sauceda snagged a 30-yard reception from Adamson. Then Adamson hit Logan Dodd for another 30. Inside the 5-yard line, Blanco allowed time to run out with Adamson taking a knee. Blanco secured a 22-0 victory over Johnson City.
