Four and a half years ago the Lord filled my heart with His Word on a Saturday morning, and I was so grateful to Him, that I felt in my heart I just had to share what I am learning with others, (because to keep it to myself would be a selfish sin) and so I called the Blanco County News and asked if I could share God’s Word with others in the newspaper. I was told “of course!” You see, it’s all about sharing Him. What I say is not spirit filled, and it’s not life to you.
In John 6:63 Jesus said “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12
I’m grateful the paper allows me to publish what I learn in God’s Word, and pray I can continue to do so for many more years.
My husband said one friend told him he can tell what Lawrence has done the previous week, because of what I write in the newspaper! What I write about isn’t always what we’re going through. To be honest, there’ve been times when I typed an article, and on deadline morning I awoke with an entirely different article that God put in my heart, and within five minutes it was done! I honestly can’t do it without the Holy Ghost. Without Him, I am nothing; in fact, I’m just a worm, “despised of the people.”
Psalm 22:6 “But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.”
After 50+ years of living, I’ve learned all the answers to life’s problems are in God’s Word, and it’s there for those of us who take time to search it out. I can’t do anything right without God involved, but with God, I can do all things, because He strengthens me!
Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
When we begin our walk with Jesus, and our hearts follow hard after Him, as it is written in Psalm 63:8 “My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me;” then we have His strength through His indwelling in our hearts, and we can say to our Lord God: “Shew thy marvellous loving kindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them” which is written in Psalm 17:7. And while we are running this race, even though we are not perfect, when we do screw up we can believe that “Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand;” which is written in Psalm 37:24!
“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Hebrews 13:5 Since we know Jesus will never leave us, we can believe His Word and rest in Psalm 73:23 which says “Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.”
Hallelujah! God has our right hand in His! He is holding us up, and has been doing so all our lives! Hallelujah! Learning how to walk and talk the way Jesus walked and talked is hard! But aren’t the best things in life difficult to attain? If it were easy everybody would be doing it. But we need His Wisdom!
“For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.” Proverbs 8:11
Job 28:23-28 - “23 “God alone understands the way to wisdom; he knows where it can be found,
24 for he looks throughout the whole earth and sees everything under the heavens.
25 He decided how hard the winds should blow and how much rain should fall.
26 He made the laws for the rain and laid out a path for the lightning.
27 Then he saw wisdom and evaluated it. He set it in place and examined it thoroughly.
28 And this is what he says to all humanity: ‘The fear of the Lord is true wisdom; to forsake evil is real understanding.’”
