Wild Game Dinner Set for Saturday
Wednesday, September 28, 2011 • Posted September 29, 2011

Organizers of the Wild Game Dinner are looking forward to serving a delicious variety of game to a large crowd this Saturday, October 1, at the Blanco County Show Barn in Johnson City.

This year’s fare includes fried Axis, Sika, Black Buck, wild game chili, whole roasted hog, gumbo, fried alligator, wild boar, fresh homemade sausage, boiled shrimp, brisket, fried sweet taters, along with bacon wrapped everything – dove, quail, elk, antelope and wild hog! Meal includes Dutch oven cobbler, other homemade desserts and tea.

Doors open at 5:00pm with serving and raffle starting at 5:30. It’s the best deal in town – $15 for the meal, door prize chance, and dance until midnight with The Mike Clifford Band.

The 50 raffle items look like everything you’d need for the deer lease (and more). Included are nineteen rifles and shotguns, scope, binoculars, Yeti cooler, game camera, cookers, shooting bench and much more.

Only those attending the dinner will be able to participate in the 100 Square Raffle, featuring a one of a kind patriotic airbrush designed Remington 11-87 Sportsman 12 gauge. Also, $20 “Pick of the Raffle” chances will be sold until 8:00pm.

Six high end guns, an autographed University of Texas Football Helmet and A&M Football, Floating on the Frio package, Fort Knox gun case, rustic cedar mantle made by DeLeon’s Outpost, Spurs vs. Toronto ledge box seats, and five hunts, including a quail hunt in Sandy, Mason hog hunt for two, Trophy Aoudad and Red Stag hunts at Benson Farm and Ranch, and an incredible 10-Day South African hunting safari for two hunters, will be exciting live auction items during the evening’s schedule.

The whole family can get involved in the silent auction offering a wide variety of more than 100 items. A guided Laguna Madre fishing trip, roasted hog for 100 guests, chainsaw wood sculpture by Jerry Hendricks, golfing certificates, and wonderful gift baskets are just a few of the fun things to bid on.

Salem’s Jewelry in Marble Falls has donated a stunning half-carat diamond drop necklace that some lucky winner will take home this Saturday. One hundred $20 “Bauble in a Bubble” chances will be sold at the Wild Game Dinner. Players also have a chance to win two other great prizes and everyone takes home a “Gone Wild” koozie.

Proceeds benefit the Blanco County Youth Livestock Show Sale. For more information, call 830-833-5335. Online information can be found at lbjcountry.com or facebook.com/wildgamedinner.
