Lady Panthers Win First District Game

The Lady Panthers lost long, hard-fought games to Lampasas on Tuesday, September 20, and then rallied with district opener wins over Junction on Friday, September 23.

The Panthers fell 2-3 to the Badgers with set scores of 25-20, 25-18, 23-25, 21-25, and 7-15. Micaela Klein and Abbey Weaver led the team with ten kills each and Lindsey Jenkins set 26 assists. Micaela and Lindsey each hit three service aces. Alex Gustafson made 34 digs and Kayla Martinez hit six blocks.

The JV and Freshmen also lost tough battles with scores of 1-2 each. The JV set scores were 25-14, 18-25, and 21-25. The Freshmen set scores were 12-25, 25-22, and 14-25.

Friday against the Junction Lady Eagles, the Panthers showed their strength recording their first district win, 3-0, with set scores of 25-19, 25-22, and 25-11. Reagan Rogers led Blanco with ten kills and three aces. Lindsey Jenkins made 16 assists. Alex Gustafson made 17 digs and Kayla Martinez hit two blocks.

The JV won, 2-1, with set scores of 24-26, 25-14, and 25-14. The Freshmen swept the Eagles, 2-0, with scores of 25-7 and 25-23.

The Lady Panthers next district opponent is the Harper Lady Horns on Friday, September 30, starting at 4:00. With an open football date for the Varsity Panthers, come fill the gym and cheer the Lady Panthers to another district victory.
