The 7th grade Panther football team fell 0-28 to the Sonora Colts on September 22. The Colts scored a touchdown and the 2-point conversion early in the 1st quarter to take the lead 0-8. The Panther offense made progress in the 2nd quarter, picking up first down runs by Kameron Martinez, but were stopped by the Colt defense on fourth down.

The Blanco defense stopped the Colts’ offense on 4th down to take possession of the ball. Jacob Ruiz, Kameron Martinez, and Jeremy Kindla made tackles for the Panthers. However, the Colts snagged an interception and quickly moved down the field for their second touchdown and 2-point conversion. On the next Panther offensive series, Sonora recovered a fumble and ran it in for another touchdown. On the two-point conversion attempt, Logan Parker made the stop for Blanco. The Colts led 0-22 at the half.

In the 2nd half, the Panthers were forced to punt on 4th down. Martinez recovered a Sonora fumble to bring the Blanco offense back on the field. QB Garrett Seales completed two passes to Sebastian Thomas, but the Colts stopped the Panthers on fourth down. Sonora scored another touchdown but failed to make the extra points, leaving the final score at 0-28.

The team will travel to Mountain Valley for their next game this Thursday, September 29.
