The highlight of my week - On October 4, 2011, TD Smylie, Jr., and his wonderful wife, Leona (nee Hohenberger) will celebrate their 69th wedding anniversary. Congratulations are certainly in order.

There are lots of things happening in the next few weeks. I heard the Wild Game dinner was a roaring success. The Courthouse Gala and the rodeo are coming up. The Authors' Day is this Saturday at the library. Lots of dances, then comes Thanksgiving and the courthouse lighting, the Christmas season, and then we start all over again! Enjoy the cool weather and there might be some rain in the forecast as well.

And lastly, although sadly, our thoughts go out to Linda Crofts and Rosemary Allen in the loss of their brother.
