Harold G. Barnes (Barney), a native of West Terre Haute, Indiana, was born on July 8, 1927, and passed away Friday, October 14, 2011. He was 84.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Shirley; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Andree’; grandson Zachariah; and brother, Bob Barnes.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Marie Barnes; parents, Edith and Virgil Barnes; and sister, Bernetta Sereno.

He was a World War II Navy vet and retired after more than 38 years with Duke Energy.

The family would like to express thanks to all the compassionate staff at Live Oak Nursing Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice Foundation.

A memorial service will be held at Live Oak Nursing Home, 618 Live Oak St., Blanco, Texas, on Monday, October 24 at 4:00pm. The service will be conducted by Rev. William Karlson.
