Samaritan’s Addition to be Dedicated Oct. 24
Wednesday, October 19, 2011 • Posted October 20, 2011

Workers are putting the finishing touches on the new addition to the Blanco Good Samaritan Center at 7th and Pecan here in Blanco. Planning began nearly a year ago for the construction of the wing that now houses the Center’s food pantry. Valuable contributions from the community included monetary donations, gifts of materials and labor.

Terry Carmichael, who generously volunteered to give his time and expertise to serve as the general contractor of the project, passed away on August 31. To honor his memory, there will be a dedication of the wing in his name on Tuesday, October 25 at 10:00am at the Center. The public is invited to attend this dedication as well as an open house there from Monday, October 24 through Friday, October 28 during Center hours of 10:00am to 4:00pm. During the open house there will be tours of the new food pantry and revamped thrift shop. Refreshments will be served.
