FCCLA: Highway to Success
Wednesday, October 19, 2011 • Posted October 20, 2011

Blanco High School FCCLA officers had the opportunity to get on the “FCCLA: Highway to Success” at the local Fall Leadership Meeting held Wednesday, October 5, 2011 in Pflugerville, Texas. Over 300 members and advisors from 15 different school districts attended the workshop held at Austin’s Park N Pizza.

The purpose of the Fall Leadership Meeting is to educate and introduce new and returning members to the wide range of FCCLA projects which they can take back and incorporate into their school. It’s also a great way for members and advisors to network with each other while having fun.

FCCLA Region and State Officers are responsible for conducting a meeting to reach at least nine local schools. Workshop sessions included: Taking Your Driver’s Test with Leadership Enhancement Opportunities, Create Your Chapter’s Road Sign Poster Contest, Charging Your Battery with Power of One, Run the Race with STAR Events, Following the Laws with Parliamentary Procedure, Gearing Up for the Race on Running for Office, and Driving in the Carpool Lane on Teambuilding.

Local FCCLA officers Kandy Kaine, Presley Savarino, Shelby Staats, Emmalee Arlitt and Micaela Klein attended the workshops, gained insight on FCCLA programs and projects, and received 2nd place in the poster contest.
