17-year-old LBJ High School senior Adam Lefford died in a fatal car accident on Saturday morning outside Blanco, the Department of Public Safety told KEYE TV News.

KEYE reported that the vehicle, a Toyota Forerunner, was traveling northbound on Rocky Road when it left the roadway and hit a tree near Cottonwood Rd. on the morning of October 22.

KEYE reported that Lefford was pronounced deceased at the scene; the driver and another passenger, both 18, were taken to Brackenridge in critical condition.

DPS told the news station that none of the individuals was wearing a seatbelt.

Lefford, who was a member of the Johnson City Eagles cheer squad, “was always there to lend a hand to anyone in need,” according to the obituary released by Crofts Funeral Home. “You could always count on Adam to make sure everyone was taken care of.”
