Lady Panthers Down the Horns

On October 18, the Lady Panthers took a road trip to Harper and brought home a sweet 3-0 victory with set scores of 25-18, 25-21, and 25-13. The win sealed a play-off position for the Panthers.

The freshman squad also scored a 2-0 sweep, while the JV fell in a 1-2 battle.

On October 21, the Comfort Deer came to Blanco to fight for their first place position in the District 8-2A standings. The Panthers kept it close, but fell 1-3 with set scores of 22-25, 26-24, 21-25, and 15-25. Abbey Weaver led the Panthers with 17 kills, four aces, and two blocks. Lindsey Jenkins set 35 assists, Alex Gustafson made 36 digs, and Kayla Martinez hit two blocks.

The freshmen lost a close 1-2 match; 25-15, 28-30, and 22-25. The JV was defeated 22-25 and 12-25.

Blanco receives a bye for the first round bi-district game, so the Lady Panthers advance to an Area play-off match-up. Information for the next Area game will be available in next week’s paper.
