Jennifer “Jenny” K. Blais

East Montpelier, Vermont – Jennifer “Jenny” K. Blais, age 53, died peacefully Thursday, October 27, 2011, at her sister’s home after a battle with cancer.

Jenny was born on May 3, 1958, in Colchester, Vermont, the daughter of Arden and Lida Kenyon. Jenny graduated from Mount Mansfield Union High School in Jericho, Vermont, and then went on to attend Boston University.

In 2003, after 25 years of service, Jenny retired from IBM in Essex Jct. and moved to Blanco, Texas, with her husband, Gary.

Jenny, Gary and their companion dog, Diamond, enjoyed many years of travel together and Diamond remained by Jenny's side throughout her illness.

Jenny was a skilled seamstress, knitter and embroiderer; doing custom work and design for locals. She also enjoyed passing on her knowledge and skills to others. Jenny was passionate in supporting Boxer Rescue in Tucson, AZ, where they rescued their first boxer, Joe. Jenny's other interests included travel, cooking, stained glass work, and she was also a Master Gardener.

She is mourned by her husband, Gary Blais of Blanco, Texas; her mother, Lida Kenyon of East Montpelier, Vermont; sisters, Janet Coffey of East Montpelier, her husband, Don, and their two children, Ethan and Carley; Linda Carey of Huntington, her companion Greg, and Linda's two children, Rolinda and Regina, and by many more family members and friends. Jenny was predeceased by her father, Arden and her brother, Mark.

By her request, there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, one can contribute to Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice, 600 Granger Rd., Barre, VT 05641. Their skill and compassion was invaluable to Jenny and her family.
