Garage sales, yard sales, rummage sales — Saturday was a good day for those looking for a treasure or bargain around Blanco. Events such as the annual Methodist Rummage and Bake sale provide a service to the community by recycling goods and raising money to support activities. Private sales help people dispose of unused items, get rid of clutter and support a green environment by lessening the load on the landfills as well as bringing in a bit of cash.

Please keep in mind that signs advertising yard sales are regulated by the city. The signs can not exceed 6 square feet in area. Signs can not be posted more than 3 days before the event and must be removed within one day after the sale. The city crew has more important issues to attend to than taking down garage/yard sale signs. They do their best to keep Blanco beautiful. Citizens can do their part by removing their signs promptly. Those responsible for placing temporary signs around town can be fined up to $500 per day for every day the signs are left up after the legal limit. Don’t lose your yard sale profit by being fined!
