Dining on the River(bed)

As we were driving around Sunday, enjoying Blanco's wonderful weekend weather, we came upon a curious scene. Some visiting families (the Statton family from Austin and the Rogers family from Boerne) had gathered together and were picnicking on the drought dry riverbed near Lindeman Lane. We had to investigate this mystery. One of the family members said to me, "When life gives you lemons, what do you do? You have a picnic!" As everyone enjoyed the afternoon, the children kept busy by exploring tiny pools of water filled with tadpoles, climbing fun rock formations, and picking up the garbage and debris in the river bed. Look at what a bit of imagination and a positive outlook can produce even when conditions are less than ideal. What a wonderful way to enjoy our lovely town and it's unique landscape. This will become an amazing memory for the children as well.
