Tots Need Toys Needs Your Help
Wednesday, November 23, 2011 • Posted November 23, 2011

It may be 80 degrees outside, but sleigh bells will be jingling soon, and Tots Need Toys (TNT) has been making plans for the annual distribution of toys to families in need of assistance.

Through the generosity of the citizens of Blanco, local businesses, organizations and churches and some not-so-local businesses, we provided Christmas gifts for 192 children in 2010. Some food items donated by Shirley Meats of San Antonio and HEB were also given out to families. Since the economy has not improved, we anticipate even more families needing help this year.

This program cannot succeed without the support of the entire community of Blanco. It takes financial support as well as volunteers. You can deliver new unwrapped toys to the following locations: Blanco United Methodist Church at 61 Pecan Street, New Hope Lutheran at 9th and Elm, St. Ferdinand’s Catholic Church at 29 Main Street, or Abundant Grace Fellowship at 650 FM 165. If you choose to let someone else do the shopping for you, you may take or mail a tax-deductible donation to any of the churches listed above. Be sure to designate on your check the donation is for Tots Need Toys. If you wish to volunteer, please contact any of the local churches involved.

Distribution day for toys this year is Saturday, December 17, beginning at 11am till 3pm at Blanco United Methodist Fellowship Hall on the corner of First and Main Street in Blanco. If you are in need of assistance from Tots Need Toys, please bring a current utility bill, rent receipt, or driver’s license as proof of residency within the Blanco Independent School District. A parent or legal guardian of each child may select gifts.

If you have any questions, please contact any of the following: Blanco United Methodist at 830-833-5030, St. Ferdinand’s at 830-833-5227, New Hope Lutheran Church at 830-833-4151 or Abundant Grace at 830-833-4888.
