Second Mile Rec. Center Now Open
Wednesday, November 23, 2011 • Posted November 23, 2011

The Second Mile Recreation Center located on the corner of 5th and Pecan is open on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons from 3:30-5:30pm. All middle school and high school-aged students are invited to attend each week, free of charge.

It is the intent of the Recreation Center to provide a safe, fun environment for students to hang out with their friends, listen to music, play games, play basketball, get tutoring help, lift weights, learn how to sew, and much more. The Recreation Center also provides an opportunity for students to build relationships with adults who will positively influence their lives. Students are welcome to sign up for such activities as weight lifting, sewing. photography, and archery.

The Rec Center will be closing the week of December 14 due to Christmas holidays but will be open again with the start of the school semester in January. Adult volunteers are always welcomed to come be a part of the Second Mile Recreation center.

If someone asks you to go one mile, go the second (Matthew 5:41). The Second Mile Recreation Center aspires to serve the youth of Blanco by going the extra mile. For more information or questions please contact, Teressa Mackey 210-913-2922 or .
