Woman’s Club Silver Tea Held
Wednesday, December 14, 2011 • Posted December 15, 2011

Wednesday, December 7, was the day of the annual Blanco Woman's Club Silver Tea. It was held at Diane Turner's home, which is a lovely home in itself, but, with all the Christmas decorations, it was a sight to behold! The serving table was awash with goodies, not the least of which was the soup ladled from a cut glass bowl. The hostesses were Diane Turner, Charlene Pace, Bonnie Holmes, Andree' Barnes, Penny Thomas, Tanya Kasper, and Kathee Copeland.

Once we had finished socializing and munching, all the members, the associates, and their guests assembled in the living room to begin the program. Carol Davidson played and sang for us some known and some lesser known Christmas carols, giving the history of each, following which we played a clever game, created by Candy Cargill Wenzel, with Christmas ornaments. With that, we bid each other a "Merry Christmas" and departed, with a smile on every face.

In other Blanco Woman's Club news, have you been to the library lately? If you haven’t, please go by to see the decorations the Angel Tree Committee has on display. Everything is beautiful, and the angels are bringing in money for the library, which will be used to help operate and maintain the library. For a donation of $3.00 or more, you too can become a library angel. Many thanks are due Charlene Pace, Carol Davidson, Janie Jones, Ann Wynn, Bonnie Holmes, and Ruth Holleman for making all the angel ornaments and the wreaths as well as for decorating the library.
