Lawrence and I were talking about the Christmas song “Silent Night” and why it’s so popular. I believe it is the stanza “Holy Infant, so tender and mild” that endears it to us because we all love babies, and instinctively cradle them in our arms. It fills my heart to think of God coming to this earth in human form, just like all of us. He’s one of us! And He was a little bitty baby boy who grew up by learning how to crawl, walk, talk, eat, and be potty trained, too! His life fills us because He is God, and was touchable; God in the flesh, Son of man and Son of God.
I’m so grateful to God for redeeming us through our faith in Jesus Christ. We praise God, and even sing 'Happy Birthday' to Jesus during this time of year. The nativity scenes depict Jesus as a baby in a crib, so one could forget that He’s really God. In John 14:9 “Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?”
The following Scriptures reveal our mighty God, and remember; this is Jesus Christ! God: the Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost; Triune God.
Isaiah 39:25-26 “25To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.
26Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.”
Did you know scientists estimate there are 100 to 200 billion galaxies in the universe? God created them. He’s the most awesome being in the heavens, above and below! He’s the most loving, smartest Father a person could have! I’m so happy to know Him and serve Him.
“6 This is what the Lord says—Israel’s King and Redeemer, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies: “I am the First and the Last; there is no other God.
7 Who is like me? Let him step forward and prove to you his power. Let him do as I have done since ancient times when I established a people and explained its future.
8 Do not tremble; do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim my purposes for you long ago? You are my witnesses—is there any other God? No! There is no other Rock—not one!” Isaiah 44:6-8
“24 This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer and Creator: “I am the Lord, who made all things. I alone stretched out the heavens. Who was with me when I made the earth?
25 I expose the false prophets as liars and make fools of fortune-tellers. I cause the wise to give bad advice, thus proving them to be fools.
26 But I carry out the predictions of my prophets! By them I say to Jerusalem, ‘People will live here again,’ and to the towns of Judah, ‘You will be rebuilt; I will restore all your ruins!’
27 When I speak to the rivers and say, ‘Dry up!’ they will be dry.
28 When I say of Cyrus, ‘He is my shepherd,’ he will certainly do as I say. He will command, ‘Rebuild Jerusalem’; he will say, ‘Restore the Temple.’” Isaiah 44:24-28
And God declared His intent to usher Jesus Christ into the world in Isaiah 42:1-9: “1Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
2He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.
3A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.
4He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.
5Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
6I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
7To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.
8I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
9Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.” KJV
“Let the whole world glorify the Lord; let it sing His praise.” Isaiah 42:12 NLT
