Start Your 2012 Exercise Program with a Guided Fitness Hike at Blanco State Park

It’s that time again—a new year is just around the corner and this time you really mean it!

You are going to take better care of yourself in 2012—eating healthier foods and getting regular exercise.

This is your chance to start that program right here in Blanco. If you love the outdoors, come and find out how to get a complete work-out without any special equipment – in our own beautiful Blanco State Park.

Blanco State Park is one of sixteen Texas State Parks participating in a national program called First Day Hikes, which was launched 20 years ago to promote both healthy lifestyles throughout the year and year round recreation in state parks.

Make Blanco State Park your first stop in 2012 and be there at 10:00am on January 1, New Year’s Day, for a free fitness walk with a certified trainer.

You will get a great work-out and find out how you can make Blanco State Park your regular venue for an effective, fun exercise program in the beauty of the great outdoors. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes appropriate for exercise and the weather.

Day entry permits are required for participants. $4.00 for adults 12 years and older, free for those 12 and younger and Texas State Park Pass holders. Don’t miss your chance to start off the new year keeping that promise you’ve make to yourself: a healthier you in 2012.
