Blanco Sweeps Brooks, Falls to Canyon Lake

The Panthers started their holiday break with three wins over the Brooks Academy Bengals on December 20.

The junior varsity boy’s team got the night started in Blanco’s favor with a 40-32 win. Chad Marshall and Josh McCaslin led the Panthers, scoring 11 points each. Carlin Green shot for six, with Logan Dodd adding four. Gilbert Rodarte and Chandler Stewart each scored three points and Colton Elrod made two.

The varsity girl’s team recorded an overwhelming 71-27 win over the Bengals. Justine Cooley and Leslie McClinton paced the team with 13 points each. Lexee Jenkins scored 11 points, followed by Kayla Martinez and Payton Savarino with eight points each. Susannah Campbell made six points, while Micaela Klein and Reagan Rogers scored five each, and Meaghen Seales added two.

The varsity boy’s team closed out the evening with a strong 69-30 victory. Kyle Sauceda led the team with 23 points. Ian Ray scored 13, followed by Quinn Dillard with 10, Tanners Rogers and David Ramirez with six each, Colton Childress with four, Sam Isenberg with three, and James Perez and Brett Champion each scored two.

The Panthers’ next home games are scheduled for Hanuary 3 against the Austin Royals. Come support the Panthers as they start the new year!

The 3-A Canyon Lake Hawks dealt a triple blow to the Panthers on December 19. The freshmen lost 14-36, the junior varsity kept it close but fell 39-44, and the varsity lost 35-42.

Freshmen scorers were: Hunter Goodman - 5 points, Ty Royce - 4, Devlin Moore - 3, and Dylan Bates - 2.

JV scorers were: Will Byler - 9, Josh McCaslin - 8, Jubal Elrod and Colton Elrod - 7 each, Chandler Stewar - 3, Logan Dodd and Carlin Green - 2 each, and Chad Marshall - 1.

Ian Ray led the varsity team with 14 points, followed by Sam Isenberg with seven, Tanner Rogers, 5, Kyle Sauceda, 4, David Ramirez, 3, and Colton Childress with 2.
