Benefit to be Held for Al Turner
Wednesday, January 11, 2012 • Posted January 12, 2012

On Friday, January 13, the community is asked to “Challenge the Fates” with a benefit for Al Turner at Redbud Cafe from 6:30pm to 9pm.

Al Turner is being treated for stage 3 lung cancer. Since he is being treated at the VA, his medical bills are not high, but he still has a lot of related expenses, is not able to work as much as before, and, of course, the bills don’t stop coming.

Al has been a real contributor to life in Blanco over the past decade. In addition to his repair and construction business, he has always been there to give a hand to others in need – doing work pro bono and raising funds for others’ medical bills. He is also serving the city in his first term on the Blanco city council.

Now it’s time to give him a hand. This fundraiser will include live music by Dry River Gang and all donations will go to cover Al’s expenses. Finger foods will be provided and the full Redbud evening menu is available at regular prices for those who want to order.
