The Subway burglary in Johnson City has been solved, reported JCPD Chief of Police Randy Holland. A confidential agreement has been made between the restaurant owner, Robin Gilliland, and the person or persons responsible for the theft of $1,024.

Chief Holland investigated the burglary and reported his findings to Gilliland. Gilliland made the decision not to prosecute at this time, knowing that he has five years to proceed with filing charges and prosecution in what would be a felony case of burglary.

“Gilliland has a big heart,” stated Holland, “and has the best of intentions.” Holland spoke to the suspect or suspects and advising that there was a five-year period in which charges could be brought against them. Holland supports the decision of Robin Gilliland as he believes that the spirit of the law can have great effect on the outcome of someone’s life. Holland said he was content knowing that charges are pending.
