Powerlifters Improve Personal Bests

The Panther powerlifting teams muscled their way to a third place girl’s trophy and a fourth place boy’s finish at San Antonio Southside on Thursday, January 19.

Erica Flores lifted her way to first place with a 15 pound increase over her personal best. Monica Flores captured second place and a 15 pound increase. Katherine Biggs won second with a 60 pound increase over the last meet.

On the boys’ team, Phil Alvarado snagged first place and made a 5 pound improvement. Alex Juarez placed third with a huge 140 pound increase. Mason LeBlanc placed second and increased 10 pounds, while Brian Brecka powered his way to third and a 120 pound increase. Chris Barnett placed second with a strong 110 pound increase. Jake Breeding increased his total by 105 pounds and Britton Wagner lifted a 15 pound increase. Jesse Ruiz improved his total by 35 pounds.

The next meet is February 2 in San Antonio.
