The Hill Country Spurs horse judging team traveled to Alvarado, TX, on Saturday, January 14, to compete in the Johnson County 4-H Horse Judging competition. The HCS horse judging team consisted of five separate teams.

The senior team #1 members were Kendra Smith, Rachel Harlin, Rilee Moser and Emily Masters. Rachel Harlin was the high point scorer for her team.

Senior team #2 judgers included Breanna Solis, Brenna Stueler, Laura Miertschin, and Lily Masters. Lily Masters was the high point scorer for her team. On the intermediate team, Kathryn Hogan was the high point scorer for her team, which consisted of Addison Stueler and Aleigh Wessels.

The HCS entered two junior teams in the competition. For some junior members, this was their first experience at a horse judging competition. Junior team #2 consisted of Dooley Smith, Rachel McGill, and Hannah Hogan. Rachel McGill was the high point scorer for her team. Congratulations go to junior team #1 members Grace Burke, Willow Grote, Paige Dalland, and Kalli Dalland. This team did an excellent job judging the 10 classes at the competition. They were awarded third place as a team in performance, fifth place in halter, and fourth place overall. Grace Burke was the high point scorer on her team and she received ribbons for tenth place in performance and tenth overall.

The teams travel to San Antonio on February 16 to compete in the District 10 Horse judging competition, and on February 18 they will travel to San Angelo to compete there.
