Senior Center Looks to Move to Johnson City

Meals on Wheels will continue to call Trinity Lutheran home and will keep serving meals to seniors in and around Blanco on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Combined Community Action, which is a separate program from Meals on Wheels and is known as the Senior Activity Center, is tentatively looking at moving to Johnson City, said center director Liz Begay. The CARTS bus will take seniors to the center in Johnson City.

For now, the center is open at Trinity Lutheran from 9am to 12:30pm every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for seniors to visit and play games.

At the December 13 city council meeting, community services director Tina Morrow reported that the organization was searching for a new space for the center. Morrow reported that Johnson City had asked them to relocate their base to that city.
