Wednesday, January 9, 2008 • Posted January 8, 2008

Over the holidays, the Varsity boys took to the hoops in between all the turkey and fireworks.

The Panthers participated in the Llano tournament, in which they brought home 1st place after a round robin.

The Panthers went up against the Johnson City for the second time within a month. Blanco took to the court hard and finished with a huge victory with a final score 56-33.

High scorer was Tesch and Thompson with 14 points each. Howells had 11 points followed by Ricky Rodriquez who finished with seven points. Newby had six points followed by Greathouse who had four points.

In the final game, the Panthers fell just short of the victory with a final score 41-47, but due to the round robin rules, Blanco won by more and loss by less and was able to bring home first place.

The second tournament for the Panthers was in Center Point.

The Panthers faced Prairie Lea in the first round and then had to take on Fredericksburg Heritage where they fell to a hard loss with a score of 42-55. But even with the loss, Blanco brought home the third place trophy.
