Since 1991, Blanco United Methodist Church has awarded scholarships to deserving Blanco community students who seek to further their education after high school. A total of $72,000 in scholarships has been awarded to 110 students.

Before making an application for 2012 scholarship consideration, a potential applicant must meet four requirements:

1. Be a graduating senior.

2. Be active in BUMC or another church.

3. Have a minimum GPA of 2.5.

4. Plan to attend a four-year college, community college, or certified technical school.

Application packets are now available online on the BUMC website, or can be picked up in the BUMC church office Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1-3 p.m. The deadline for returning fully completed applications to the BUMC church office is Thursday, March 29, 2012, by 3 p.m. No late applications will be accepted.
