Season Ends for Varsity Girls

The Ballinger Lady Cats jumped out to a 19-14 lead over the Lady Panthers in the first quarter of the bi-district match-up Monday, February 13. The Panthers tightened their defense in the second quarter, allowing only four points by Ballinger; however, the Blanco shots just would not fall and the Lady Cats led 23-10 at halftime. The third quarter was more of the same with the peroid ending at 39-17, Ballinger. The Panthers found the hoop for 18 points in the fourth quarter, but the deficit was too much to overcome. The final score was 52-35.

Leslie McClinton scored 12 to lead the Panthers, followed by Justine Cooley and Micaela Klein with seven points each. Kayla Martinez and Lindsey Jenkins each scored four and Reagan Rogers scored one on a free throw. McClinton grabbed nine rebounds and seven steals, with Jenkins adding five rebounds, three assists, and five steals. Klein made four rebounds.
