Aromatherapy Through History Seminar Set for Feb. 29
Wednesday, February 22, 2012 • Posted February 23, 2012

Are you curious about aromatherapy? Our volunteer instructor, Vessel, will talk on some of the uses of aromatherapy throughout history as an alternative or complementary healing art. Her non-medical discussion will cover how essential oils are different from fragrance oils and the role that carrier oils play in aromatherapy. She will be aided with supplies from the Peach Basket Natural Foods and Supplements in Fredericksburg. Vessel is a Certified Reflexologist who has studied herbalism, aromatherapy, detoxification, and stress management for 30 years.

“Many people may be curious about what the general term “aromatherapy” means. Our speaker will keep it simple, with a light exploration of the history of aromatherapy,” Donna Lafferty, CRC coordinator, said. “She will make a distinction between fragrance oils, essential oils, and carrier oils to help the novice who may be thinking about ways to use natural plant oils for uses around the home.”

This free seminar is open to any interested adult. It is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 29, from 2 – 3 pm at the HCM CRC located in the Brune Professional Building at 808 Reuben Street. Reservations are required by calling 830-990-6648.
