The “Ring out the Old – Bring in the New” Chili Cook-Off (Tolbert Qualifier) was held for the 4th year at Camp Ranger on RR 32 about 2.7 miles east of US Hwy 281 on Dec 31 and Jan 1.

The sponsored, non-profit organization for this event was our local American Legion Memorial Highway Post 352. Among the many different types of entries were: beans, chili, ribs, chicken, Margaritas, Bloody Mary’s, and egg omelets.

There were as many exceptional entries as there were events.

There was also a raffle, silent auction, and live auction to benefit the American Legion Post.

The American Legion would like to thank the many local businesses that helped support the raffle with donated items: Super S, Chili’s restaurant, Starbuck’s, Home Depot, golf course at Rockin’ J’s, Outback restaurant, Bed, Bath, and Beyond, Sea World of Texas, Tractor Supply, Dirt Works, A Step Back Antiques, Express Care, Texas State Representative Patrick Rose, Vintage Cottage, Blanco Hydro Gas, and Wittington’s Jerkey.

These are really great businesses, and we truly appreciate their wonderful support of the American Legion and the community.
