The Blanco High School speech, debate, and academic teams participated in the Pflugerville Connally UIL meet on Saturday, February 18. The speech team finished second overall to Pflugerville Hendrickson.

“We had another strong showing against some good squads at Pflugerville Connally last week,” said UIL director Russell Kirkscey. “We and Hendrickson were the only schools with multiple finalists in extemporaneous speaking and oral interpretation.”

“There were about 35 entries in each event, so I’m pleased that we had so many in the top six or seven in each event.”

“Samantha Primeaux and Annabeth Griffin debated especially well, each losing only one round to the same debater from Cedar Park.”
