Sixty-five moms and 68 daughters from around the region converged on Fredericksburg Elementary School February 28 for Hill Country Memorial’s twelfth annual “Girl Talk” seminar facilitated by Jennifer Woerner Dulaney, M.D.
The free seminar is designed as an educational session on feminine hygiene to facilitate closer mother/daughter relationships. This year, audience members came from Burnet, Comfort, Fredericksburg, Johnson City, Kerrville, Kingsland, Llano, Mason, Medina, San Antonio and Stonewall.
Discussion topics included anatomy, hormones, hygiene and changes that come with girls growing older. During an open forum at the end of the presentation, Dr. Dulaney answered questions from the audience for approximately 40 minutes.
Michael R. Williams, M.D., Hill Country Memorial chief executive officer, said partnerships among physicians, schools and the hospital help nurture a community culture of caring. “It is our pleasure to work with our outstanding medical staff to facilitate health-related events such as this seminar for young women,” he said, “and our local school system is always willing to help us and the communities we serve.”
