Livestock Team Finishes in Top Ten

On the final day of the San Antonio Livestock Show, 15 members of the Blanco FFA Chapter competed in the Livestock Judging Competition. The contest consisted of placing and question classes over the four main species of livestock: sheep, swine, cattle, and goats. The officials for the contest were the Texas A&M Judging Team, who recently won the collegiate division at the San Antonio Livestock Show.

In the senior division, Blanco’s two teams finished 9th and 27th out of 251 teams. Tyler Hardin was recognized at the awards ceremony for placing 6th out of 837 individuals. Other senior team members included: Kellam Nabers, Callie Culton, Alex Gustafson, Joanna Delavan, Logan Dodd, Ed Alvarado, Skylar Itz, and Sam Isenberg. In the junior division, Blanco finished 21st out of 110 teams. Leading the way for the team was Brenna Wallace, who placed 33rd out of 369 individuals. Ty Preiss, Cade Felps, Kelton Marek, Emily Biggs, and Allie West completed the junior team.
