The Blanco Panther JV Baseball Team is off to a fast start this season, winning eight of their first ten games. This past weekend, the Panthers swept all three games at the annual Blanco JV Baseball Tournament to win the championship.

In their first game, Blanco defeated the Harper Longhorns 8 to 1 behind a strong pitching performance from Kyle Sauceda. Sauceda allowed just one hit while striking out four over five innings. At the plate, Sauceda again took charge going 2 for 3 with two RBIs.

Blanco’s second game was a decisive 17 to 6 win over the San Saba Armadillos. Grant Calzoncit pitched four strong innings for the victory before turning over the last inning to Tyler Hardin. Offensively, Sauceda, Hardin and McKay Adamson all went 3 for 3 as the Panthers totaled fourteen hits.

The championship game proved to be a battle of the Panthers as Blanco took on Navarro. McKay Adamson proved to be too much to handle for the Navarro hitters, as Adamson allowed just three hits over seven innings while striking out 12 and allowing one unearned run. Sauceda again provided the offensive firepower for Blanco, collecting two hits and scoring two runs. Jake Breeding also picked up two hits while scoring a run and collecting an RBI.

All tournament selections for the Panthers included Tyler Hardin, Jake Breeding and McKay Adamson. The tournament MVP award went to Kyle Sauceda.
