Deer Fall Prey to Lady Panthers

The Lady Panthers had a slow start against the Comfort Deer on Friday, March 30, but finished strong for a 13-3 win in five innings. Comfort scored one run in the first inning, followed by two more in the second to lead 3-0.

The Panthers began to hit in the third inning with Angel Williams, Leslie McClinton, and Meaghen Seales each hitting a single. Angel scored on a Comfort error and Callie Culton added a single to bring in Meaghen and Leslie. Callie scored on the next play, giving the Panthers a 4-3 lead at the end of the third.

The Blanco squad added five runs in the fourth inning and four more in the fifth to win the game 13-3.

Callie hit two singles with four RBI. Meaghen added three single and one RBI, followed by Angel with a single, a double, and one RBI. Leslie hit two singles and Kelsey Schwind leveled a single and a triple for three RBI. Callie pitched for the win, tossing seven strike-outs.

The Panthers will travel to Junction this Friday, April 6, to battle for the district lead. The JV plays at 11:00 followed by varsity at 1:00.
