Kenneth Ray Bindseil

Kenneth Ray Bindseil passed away at his home in Rockland, Maine, on March 5, 2012, following extended health issues. he was born May 30, 1945, in Blanco, Texas, to Roland and Viola Bindseil.

He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Arlon and Marilyn Bindseil; two nieces; one nephew; and six great nephews.

Kenneth graduated from Blanco High School in 1963, then went on to pursue higher education. In 1967 he received a B.A. in English, and in 1969 an M.A. in English, both from SWTSTC, San Marcos. In 1979 he received his PhD in Higher Education Administration and with a second field in English from North Texas State University in Denton.

During the years that followed he had a successful career in higher education as a teacher, a senior administrator and as an author. At the time of his retirement in 2011, he was Dean of Liberal Arts at Quincy College in Quincy, Mass.

It was Kenneth’s request that no services be held, and that his ashes be committed at his parents’ grave site.

The family is most grateful to Kenneth’s friend and caregiver, James Meller of Rockland, Maine.
