Johnson City Couple to Host Vietnam Veterans Reunion
Wednesday, April 11, 2012 • Posted April 12, 2012

Members of C Battery, 6th Battalion, 84th Artillery will again muster in Johnson City April 14-15. C Battery was activated in August 1967 at Fort Irwin, California. The unit trained there for deployment to Vietnam and in December 1967 it was declared combat-ready and departed from Long Beach, California in January 1968. C Battery served with distinction throughout the central highlands of South Vietnam until late 1969, at which time the equipment was turned over to the Army of Vietnam and the men were returned home. The unit was awarded the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with palm (2 awards).

The reunion will be hosted by retired Army Major Jeff Gray, C Battery commander, and his wife, Kathleen Marie Wilson. About 40 unit members and their wives are expected to attend the reunion.

These veterans will be staying in Blanco County motels, bed and breakfasts, and RV parks, and eating in Blanco County restaurants during their stay. Please offer thanks to the veterans who proudly served their country.
