Representative Smith Comes to Town
Wednesday, April 11, 2012 • Posted April 12, 2012

US Representative Lamar Smith stopped in Blanco County on April 5 to meet with voters. He attended a lunch at Papa Joey's, speaking with and answering questions from about 25 voters. Smith also spoke with Mayor Chuck Homan and a couple of county commissioners.

Smith made a stop at the Blanco County News after lunch to speak with editor Charles Willgren. They discussed the various issues raised at the lunch, that Smith has been elected to chair of the House Judiciary Committee, and the recent uproar over the Smith-sponsored Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) that was protested by several popular websites along with the Senate’s version, called Protect Intellectual Property Act (PIPA). After his visit at BCN, Smith headed to Johnson City and spoke with the sheriff, county judge, and folks at PEC.
