Wednesday, April 11, 2012 • Posted April 12, 2012

On April 21, Blanco County residents will have the opportunity to dispose of their large household trash items at the Blanco County – IESI Transfer Station. The event location is at 377 Transfer Road (between Johnson City and Blanco) and trash items will be accepted from 8am until 3pm.

Household quantities of tires, lead acid and rechargeable batteries, electronics (including cell phones, telephones, computers, and televisions), motor oil, and antifreeze will be accepted. In addition, large household trash items including construction debris, carpet, old appliance, and scrap steel and metal will be accepted. Although volunteers are taking the majority of items free-of-charge, any citizens disposing of tires will be asked to pay based on the disposal fee as follows:

• P and LT Tires up to 20 inches - $1.75 per tire

• 22.5 to 24.5 inch tires - $6.50 per tire

• Tractor tires 16.5 to 19.5 inches - $4.50 per tire

• Tractor tires 20 inches and up - $6.50 per tire

In addition, tax-deductible donations will also be accepted. Community involvement is an important key to keeping Blanco County communities clean and safe. If you are interested in making a tax-deductible donation, volunteering or have questions, contact Paul Granberg at 830-833-1077.
