William Schuetz

William Eldred Schuetz, 55, of Blanco County, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, April 14, 2012. He was born to the late Kermit and Edna Hudspeth Schuetz on December 16, 1956, in Johnson City. William attended Blanco ISD until his senior year, and then finished high school in New Braunfels.

After spending some time on the west coast, William returned to the Hill Country. He enjoyed working outdoors on cattle ranches in and around Blanco County.

William married Arlene Gamez in 1980 and had three children. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, playing guitar, good literature, and excavating Native American artifacts. He was a member of the Catholic Church and the NRA.

William is survived by his wife Arlene, sons, Jonathan and William, daughter, Theresa, and grandchildren, Eli and Natalie of Blanco. He is also survived by his brother Kenneth Wade, nephew Kenneth William, and great nephews Kenneth William Jr. and Samuel Kermit of Gustine, Texas.

Visitation will be held at Crofts Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17, followed by a rosary. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, April 18, at St. Ferdinand’s Catholic Church at 2 p.m. William will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The reception will be held in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his name at Security State Bank.
