William “Whitey” A. Uselton

William A. Uselton of Blanco, TX, passed away at his home April 16, 2012, at the age of 87 from leukemia. He was born in Roellen, TN, on June 27, 1924. He served his country during WWII by joining the Navy in 1941. He participated in both the Pacific and Atlantic Ocean battles. He sailed with the USS Carroll, a troop transport; the USS New Jersey, a battlewagon; and the USS LCI (G), a gun boat. He was an electrical contractor and owned his own business in Brownsville, TX.

He is survived by his wife, Lucia R. Uselton; his son, Greg Uselton (Vangie), their son Omar Perez (Erica) and three grandchildren; his daughter Brenda Richardson, her three sons, Scot (Emily), Brian (Gina), and Michael (Julie) and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers, Johnny Uselton of Houston and Monroe Uselton of Dyersberg, TN; and stepsons, Abe, Mike and David Vasquez.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kitty Uselton, his parents and five brothers and sisters.

There will be no service. In lieu flowers, please donate to the Blanco Good Samaritan Center, where he volunteered for many years.
