Aggie Moms Host Scholarship Fundraiser
Wednesday, April 18, 2012 • Posted April 19, 2012

Don’t forget – Saturday, April 21, Blanco County Aggie Moms will offer some excellent shopping opportunities for you. The annual Garage Sale will be held from 8am to 2pm at 603 Fourth Street (Immel’s Dairy Service) in Blanco.

Blanco County Aggie Moms is a nonprofit organization and all funds received go toward scholarships for incoming freshmen. The organization was incorporated in 2006 and includes Aggie Moms from Johnson City and Blanco. The group holds regular meetings and welcomes new Aggies and their families each year with the annual summer picnic. Blanco County Aggie Moms also distribute goody bags to Aggie students during semester finals, recognize students for graduation and birthdays, and contribute to various Aggie-sponsored events.

The primary emphasis of fundraising efforts is dedicated toward scholarships for incoming Aggie freshmen. Each year Aggie Moms combine funds with those of the Blanco County A&M Association of Former Students. Contributions to the scholarship fund have increased substantially each year.

Next fall the group is expecting to see at least ten freshmen from Blanco County attend Texas A&M University. Whoop! We look forward to the opportunity to aid these young people in their educational goals. Please come out and help us support these students on Saturday, April 21.
