PTO Walkathon Raises Funds for Technology
Wednesday, April 18, 2012 • Posted April 19, 2012

Blanco Elementary School had their 2nd annual walkathon on March 8. The fundraiser was hosted by PTO and was held at the elementary parking lot. Popcorn, water, and fresh fruit were given to students during their walk time. Bananas, oranges, and apples were donated by Super S. Students worked hard to get as many laps to raise funds for their school. It paid off! Blanco students raised over $9,700.

Our top students who raised the most were Caleb Murrah and Lauren Anderson who each received a $100 visa gift card. Chloe Luna and Harley Hensley were our 3rd and 4th place winners receiving $25 “Big Bucks” from Security State Bank and Trust. Our other top winners are Dax Ammons, Mitchell Barnett, John Handley-Kainer, and Nathan Tomlin who all received $10 gift cards to Sonic. Everyone who raised $25 or more all received a coupon for two free items at the school store. Students who raised $75 or more will be receiving a special panther gift pack. Our class winners who raised the most were Ms. Lovinggood’s kindergarten class. Our two winning teachers are Mrs. Marshall and Mr. Mike. All proceeds will go to two class sets of Nooks and protective cases.
