Carlos “Papo” Garcia, Jr.

Carlos “Papo” Garcia, Jr., 76, passed away April 21, 2012, in San Antonio, TX, surrounded by his family. He was born April 1, 1936, in Zapata, TX, to Carlos Garcia, Sr. and Angelita Garcia.

Carlos was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Oscar and Fernando Garcia; and nephew, Oscar Javier Garcia.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Hilda Garcia; four children, Carlos Noel Garcia and wife Esmeralda of Temple, TX, Debbie Martinez and husband Tony of Blanco, TX, Angie Sandoval and husband Pete of Blanco, TX, and Eddie Garcia and wife Diana of Dripping Springs, TX; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Thelma Guadiz and husband John of Brementon, WA; sister-in-law Irma Lopez of Corpus Christi, TX, who was like a daughter to Carlos; and sister-in-law Margaret Garcia of Corpus Christi, TX. Carlos is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

Carlos proudly served his country for three years with the U.S. Army. He retired from Pedernales Electric Cooperative in Johnson City, TX.

Visitation will be 3:00-6:00pm Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Crofts Funeral Home in Blanco where funeral services will begin at 6:00pm that evening.
