Who’s Who in the Blanco Cemetery
Part 34 in a series
Wednesday, May 9, 2012 • Posted May 10, 2012

The Directors of the Blanco Historic Cemetery Association thank all of you who have paid your $25 annual maintenance contribution. At the annual members’ meeting in February, the members voted to pay $25 per family per year so that the costs of maintaining the cemetery could be covered without dipping into funds that have been set aside for possible expansion. Historically, members have paid an annual fee to help with upkeep. The only other source of income we have is plot sales.

If you own a plot or if you are a direct descendant of someone buried in the cemetery then you are a member of the Association. We have contact information for those who have purchased plots since May 2011 and for the those who attended the annual meeting in February, but that member list is far from complete. If you are a member please send us your correct address, phone number and, if available, your email address. If you will include your tax-deductible $25, we will send you a receipt. Thank you for your assistance in maintaining the cemetery and in helping us construct a more complete member list.

If you have relatives or know of others who qualify as Association members, please remit the same information for them so that we can update our records. The information may be submitted to the Blanco Historic Cemetery Association, PO Box 473, Blanco, Texas, 78606 or you may send an email to gail_mcclellan@yahoo.com.

Our Blanco Cemetery was not organized to be a perpetual care cemetery. Back in the 1800’s it was expected that each family would tend to the care of its own gravesites. However, there are many people buried in our Cemetery now who have no family to maintain their graves.

This week we are covering Section 11D.
