Our dear friends Tish and Kenneth Johnson are happy to report two real joys in their lives: After Tish's long struggle following her jaw surgery, she is finally beginning to see that long-awaited improvement. Their daughter Bee (Johnson) Reno, band director at Kenedy High School, just won a first place award from the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution for composing a march entitled "Our Daughters' March - Past and Present." The year before last, Bee entered the musical competition and won second-place and third-place awards, but the whole family was ecstatic this year when she won first place. Congratulations, Bee! "Good things come to those who wait upon the Lord." (This information was submitted by the Blanco Songbird - thanks, Dorothy!)

I saw Tish myself at the library on Saturday and what a treat for me! She has had a long, long row to hoe, but she's gotten it done!

Happy belated Mother's Day to everyone!
