This has been another one of those weeks that kick you in the stomach, they are so unexpected. Dear Mr. Tom Gardner, husband of Deena, passed away last week while undergoing some tests. He was one of a kind - he had the most infectious laugh - seemed like it came from way down deep in his belly - and he enjoyed life! Everyone in the drugstore perked up when he came in, because we knew he was going to impart some far-fetched, maybe embellished, but nevertheless true story. I personally am going to miss him an awful lot. Many, many hugs to Deena and their family - daughters and son....

A big shout-out to Liz Waller-Broyal for being instrumental in getting Emancipet to Blanco! We surely did need them because, if you have more than one cat or dog, spaying or neutering can get really expensive, as can micro-chipping. Emancipet helps keep the stray pet population down very inexpensively and does our community a big favor. Thanks again, Liz!

Thursday before last, my mom had a health crisis and not only did Blanco EMS get right there, even Bulverde came to the rescue. All of you who were involved are right at the top of my thank-you list, because, if it hadn't been for your teamwork, my mom might not be here now. I followed the ambulance to Stone Oak and have never driven so fast in my life, without getting a ticket (that was the only fun part of the whole thing)...

It was a treat to see Ada Cooley out and about - sporting a new 'do!"

Vacation Bible Schools are springing up everywhere. Take your kids to one, or even all of them - they usually run consecutively. It's loads of fun for the kids and parents can take a breather...

Blanco has a new boy in town - his name is Kyle, he's from Tennessee, and he's staying with his grandma, Sally Wall, for some of the summer. I've seen him and he is worth trying to find, ladies! So get out and get looking!

Don't forget - this weekend, think LAVENDER!

“God Save The Queen!”
